We were asked by a garden designer to assist in improving the soil and garden planting in Oxshott, Surrey.
The garden had been previously landscaped but the ground was compacted and waterlogged. We removed and saved what plants had survived and set about double digging the beds and adding drainage.
A mix of organic compost and fine composted bark was added to the soil to improve the organic content and help separate the compacted soil. The existing plants were divided up and planted along with new herbaceous perennials.
Planting designed by Judy Bryant.
This garden planting project involved:
- Lifting and storing existing plants
- Laying drainage pipes
- Detailed border preparation
- Inclusion of organic matter and fertiliser
